Our History

Headquartered in Houston, Texas, Keane is one of the largest pure-play providers of integrated well completion services in the US, with a focus on complex, technically demanding completion solutions. Keane’s primary service offerings include horizontal and vertical fracturing, wireline perforation and logging, engineered solutions, and cementing, as well as other value-added service offerings. Keane owns approximately 1.2 million hydraulic fracturing horsepower and 31 wireline trucks and provides engineered solutions. Keane’s broad geographic footprint spans the most prolific US shale basins including the Permian, Bakken, Marcellus/Utica, and SCOOP/STACK. Keane prides itself on its outstanding employee culture, its efficiency, and its ability to meet and exceed the expectations of its customers and the communities in which it operates.

  • 2011

    A private company with growth opportunity

    In 2011, Keane became a part of a private equity investment portfolio, operating only in the Marcellus area.

  • 2013

    Expansion into Bakken and Permian plays

    Keane leadership set plans in motion to expand into additional markets. We added wireline as a service offering and established operational bases in the Bakken and the Permian.

  • 2016

    Rapid growth with acquisition of Trican US assets

    Exponential growth came with the acquisition of Trican Well Service's US assets in March 2016, which increased our Keane team population from 458 to 954 and brought our fracturing capability to approximately 950,000 HHP. Through this acquisition, we also established operations in the Mid-Con.

  • 2017

    Keane Group goes public

    In January 2017, Keane began trading on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) under the symbol "FRAC."

  • 2017

    Acquisition of RockPile complements Keane's efficiency

    In July 2017, Keane acquired RockPile Energy Services, a provider of high-quality completion services. Through this strategic business development, we increased our hydraulic fracturing capability to approximately 1.2 million HHP.
